Our Doctor

Dr. Gallaher

Dr. Gallaher completed her pre-veterinary training at Cornell University and received her veterinary degree from Purdue School of Veterinary Medicine in 2005.  Following graduation, Dr. Gallaher pursued an intense one year internship in canine reproduction and small animal medicine and surgery under the direction of Robert Hutchison, DVM at Animal Clinic Northview, Center for Canine and Feline Reproduction and Infertility in Ohio.  Dr. Gallaher joined Northview as an associate in 2006 and spent six years refining her skills in medicine and surgery in a very busy primary care and referral hospital. Special interests include canine reproduction and pediatrics, hereditary diseases of purebred dogs, and soft tissue surgery.  She has been a guest lecturer at Purdue University for the Small Animal Theriogenology course and has presented multiple continuing education seminars for veterinarians, technicians, and breeders.  Dr. Gallaher founded the Canine Reproduction Center of Florida after relocating to the Sarasota area in 2012.  Most recently, Dr. Gallaher was fortunate enough to cross paths with the much loved Dr. Beverly Brimacomb of Lakeland, Florida. Dr. B dedicated a lifetime to canine reproductive medicine and the sport of dogs.  Dr. Gallaher was privileged to be chosen to continue Dr. B’s work during her illness and to benefit from her valuable mentorship during her final months.  Although a permanent relocation was not possible, Dr. Gallaher hopes to be able to serve some of Dr. B’s loyal breeder clients here in Manatee County.

After several years of brainstorming and planning, Dr. Gallaher is beyond excited to introduce Legacy Canine Reproduction and Wellness, a unique practice model providing dedicated veterinary medicine to dedicated breeders!

Originally from Pennsylvania, Dr. Gallaher and her family are excited to be settled in sunny Florida!  Outside of the office Dr. Gallaher enjoys spending time with her husband and five children on their ever growing mini-farm - goats, bunnies, chickens, and canines!
